The company was founded in 1967 and its main activity is to manage hotels. We currently operate 16 hotels making up the Med Playa Hotels chain.
Med Playa Management, S.L. specialises in beach hotels. The chain's hotels are situated on the Costa Brava and the Maresme coast, in Salou and Benidorm, on the Costa del Sol and next to the Black Sea. We manage a total of 3,929 rooms providing beds for up to 8,080 guests at any one time.

Whilst not originally operating under the name of Med Playa, the company began to construct several hotels in Benidorm in 1967 and 1968. The MED PLAYA MANAGEMENT, S.L. Amigo Card Loyalty Programme is regulated by the following conditions. 

The conditions detailed below explain how the Amigo Card programme works and may be consulted at any time on the MedPlaya Hoteles website:

The Amigo Card loyalty programme uses an Amigo Card identification card to identify the card holder as a member of the Amigo Card programme. The Amigo Card is the property of MedPlaya. 

By accepting these conditions, the Amigo Card holder hereby states that they are aware of the conditions detailed herein, which shall be applicable as long as they are registered as an Amigo Card holder.  

The advantages offered by the Amigo Card loyalty programme are applicable to all MedPlaya hotels, except Resort Giverola & Bella Vista Beach Club. it is not possible to exchange points at Giverola / Bella Vista for discounts, services or gifts.Each establishment shall determine the services that are included in the Amigo Card programme and these may vary depending on the establishment.

MedPlaya reserves the right to amend the conditions of the Amigo Card programme.



Any natural person who is over 18 years of age may register for the Amigo Card loyalty programme by completing the registration form and accepting the established conditions. Legal persons are excluded from the Amigo Card programme.

The natural person will then become the Amigo Card holder. Each person may only register for one Amigo Card. In the event that a person registers more than once, MedPlaya reserves the right to reject any subsequent registrations.

Various established channels may be used to register for the Amigo Card programme. The channels that may be used to register for the Amigo Card loyalty programme are as follows:

·         The website, by completing the online registration form with your personal details and accepting the established conditions.

Online Amigo Card registrations are automatically awarded 20 points to welcome the card holder to the Amigo Card programme. 


·         At any MedPlaya hotel by filling in the registration form, using a QR code.

Registration for the Amigo Card programme is free. You must have an email address to register for the Amigo Card programme. The same email address may not be used for more than one registration.



The Amigo Card identifies its bearer as having registered for the Amigo Card loyalty programme.  The Amigo Card displays the card holder’s full name and MedPlaya identification number (ID MedPlaya).

The Amigo Card is available in digital format. 

Once the Amigo Card registration process has been completed, the Amigo Card holder will receive a welcome email with their virtual Amigo Card as an attached file.

he Amigo Card holder will have access to the virtual card in their Amigo account dashboard to download or print.

The Amigo Card is personal and non-transferable.



The Amigo Card holder will be able to enjoy all the advantages of the Amigo Card programme at all MedPlaya hotels.  These benefits are as follows: 

a)      Additional discount on your booking by redeeming your points.

Only applicable to bookings made through our website, our MedPlaya Call Centre or in any of our MedPlaya hotels and by accepting the Free Cancellation policy.

b)      Option to redeem points for services/gifts at any of our MedPlaya hotels.

Check available services/gifts on arrival at your hotel.  These services/gifts may vary depending on the establishment.

c)      Fast check-in by presenting your physical or virtual Amigo Card on arrival.

d)      Exclusive additional promotions and discounts for registered Amigo Card members.




Each Amigo Card point has a value of €0.50 when you redeem your points for a discount on your accommodation. This value is exclusively for redeeming points for a discount on your accommodation and will only be applicable to bookings made via our website, our MedPlaya Call Centre or in our MedPlaya hotels and by accepting the Free Cancellation Policy.

Bookings made through our website, our MedPlaya Call Centre or in any MedPlaya hotel with the Non-refundable Cancellation Policy are excluded from the offer to redeem points for a discount on your accommodation.

Details about the services/gifts included in the Amigo Card programme and their Amigo Card value in points will be provided at each MedPlaya hotel. Any services/gifts that are not specified in the Amigo Card programme are not included in the programme.

Points are non-transferable between Amigo Card holders and may not be redeemed for money.

Amigo Card points are valid for two years from the date on which they are obtained.



Please show your virtual Amigo Card at check-in so that the points that correspond to your stay can be awarded to your Amigo Card account. Points will be automatically awarded during check-in, never before you arrive at the hotel.

Amigo Card holders may obtain points in the following ways:


a)      For each stay at a MedPlaya hotel.

This condition is applicable to all booking channels. The following points will be awarded: 


o   1st - 5th stay:                         20 Amigo Card points per stay

o   6th - 10th stay:                       35 Amigo Card points per stay

o   11th - 15th stay:                     50 Amigo Card points per stay

o   More than 15 stays:                 60 Amigo Card points per stay


Stays include all stays at any MedPlaya hotel and are calculated from the moment you register for the Amigo Card loyalty programme.

Two consecutive bookings by the same client will not be considered a new stay and points will therefore not be awarded for the second stay. 


b)     For bookings made using the following channels:

iii.          MedPlaya Hotels

At check-in the equivalent of 8% of the total booking fee will be automatically awarded in Amigo Card points. Extra services related to your booking are excluded from this condition.

Reservations made through other distribution channels are excluded from condition (b).

The Amigo Card holder will simultaneously receive points for each stay and booking if they meet the conditions detailed above.




o   In the event that the Amigo Card holder has made several bookings, they will only be awarded Amigo Card points for the sum corresponding to the room in which they are personally registered.

o   If the Amigo Card holder pays for several bookings, they shall not be awarded more points for the extra bookings.

o   In the event that more than one guest who is registered for the Amigo Card programme is staying in the same room, Amigo Card points will only be awarded to one card holder. 

o   If any changes are made to your booking during your stay, MedPlaya reserves the right to review and amend the allocation of Amigo Card points prior to the booking amendment.

o   Amigo Card points shall be awarded to a card holder irrespective of the person who paid for the booking.



It is essential that you show your virtual Amigo Card at reception, or to the person responsible for the Amigo Card programme at the hotel, to redeem your points for discounts and/or services during your stay.



You may ask to redeem your points for services/gifts at reception, or ask the person at the Amigo Card “Loyalty-Fidelidad & Community Manager” desk, by showing your Amigo Card.

Reception, or the Amigo Card representative, will issue a pass/voucher for the requested service/gift and charge the corresponding points to your Amigo Card account.  The Amigo Card holder shall present the pass/voucher to the department providing the service so that these points can be redeemed.

Passes/vouchers issued during your stay will expire at the end of your stay. 

Check which services/gifts are available to be redeemed with your Amigo Card points at reception or at the “Loyalty-Fidelidad & Community Manager” desk. These services/gifts may vary depending on the establishment.

Points may only be redeemed for additional room services if the Amigo Card holder is registered as staying in the room.



The Amigo Card holder may ask to redeem their points for a discount on their accommodation when they check in or before they arrive at the hotel.

Redeeming points for a discount on your accommodation will only be applicable to bookings made via our website, our MedPlaya Call Centre or at any of our MedPlaya hotels and by accepting the Free Cancellation Policy.  This discount will be applicable to the amount corresponding to the accommodation and meal plan; any additional services will not be included. 

Each Amigo Card point has a value of €0.50 that is only applicable when you redeem your points to obtain a discount on your accommodation.

Bookings made through other channels, or our website, our MedPlaya Call Centre or in our MedPlaya hotels with the Non-refundable Cancellation Policy are excluded from the offer to redeem points for a discount on your accommodation.

In the event that the Amigo Card holder makes several bookings, points may only be redeemed for a discount on accommodation in the room where the Amigo Card holder is staying. 

Points may not be redeemed to pay for any sums related to taxes and fees.


Once registration for the Amigo Card programme has been completed, the card holder may access their private Amigo Card area on by identifying themselves with their email address or MedPlaya identification number (ID MedPlaya) and password. 

In the Amigo Card private area you can:

-          Download / Print your Amigo Card.    

-          Check details of transactions made using the points on your Amigo Card account and view your balance in points.

-          Check and update your personal details.

Membership of the Amigo Card programme may be cancelled for the following reasons:

-          The user may request to cancel their membership of the Amigo Card programme by sending an email

-          MedPlaya management reserves the right to the temporary or permanent cancellation of the Amigo Card holder’s membership under the following circumstances:

To help everyone enjoy a safe environment in our hotels it is essential that our customers also play their part. Please read the PDF “Hotel Customer Guidelines” carefully before arriving at the hotel.


In Benidorm  it is compulsory from 4th December  to present a Covid Vaccination certificate in order to enter leisure establishments with a capacity of more than 50 people.

In MedPlaya Hotels in Benidorm please present  your certificate at Check in along with your passport / DNI the certificate where we will verify the details and so we will not require you to then show the certificate each time you enter our hotel restaurants  if you have booked to have meals in the hotels.

From December 20, in order to access leisure establishments in Andalusia, it is mandatory to present one of the following certificates:

Diagnostic Certificate
Covid Recovery Certificate

 At MedPlaya Hotels, please present your certificate at Check-in along with your passport / ID, where we will verify your data so as not to request that you show the certificate every time you access our hotel restaurants if you have reserved meals and bars in our hotel.

The health and safety of our customers and staff have always been of the utmost importance to MedPlaya.

Given the Covid-19 crisis they are even more important.  On this page we explain the steps we have taken in our hotels to ensure that our already strict safety and hygiene procedures are even more robust, and follow all necessary guidelines.

MedPlaya has developed these plans alongside expert consultants, national and local authorities, and following the advice and recommendations of Spanish Hotelier Associations and ABTA UK.

1. Physical Distancing

Physical distancing of a minimum of 1.5m in place throughout the hotel in all public and staff areas.


Clear signage throughout the hotel for social distancing and hand cleaning. Required distances marked out in certain areas.

3. Increased Cleaning,
 Disinfection & Ventilation
 4. Sanitising Points throughout the hotel
Clear schedule of increased cleaning and disinfection of all public areas indoor and outdoor added to our already stringent cleaning protocol, using antivirus and antibacterial cleaning products. We will ventilate all public areas as much as possible, opening doors and windows on a regular basis.

During housekeeping cleaning all rooms will be ventilated and after check out each hotel bedroom will be disinfected prior to new guests checking into the room.


Capacity levels in public areas strictly in place throughout the hotel as stipulated by Spanish Government bodies. When necessary restaurant sitting times will be applied and it is essential that customers adhere to the sitting time allocated for dining.

9. Sunbeds around pool terraces
10. Swimming Pools

Sunbeds disinfected daily prior to pool areas being opened, and wherever possible contact areas will be regularly cleaned during the day. Sunbeds are available outside and arranged according to capacity and social distancing requirements. Hygiene stations available for customer use equipped with a bacterial cleanser and paper towels to allow our guests to keep their own area clean while they are enjoying being by the pool.


Swimming pools available according to capacity and social distancing requirements. If necessary applied timings for pool use will be applied to ensure capacities of pool areas are maintained.

All activities will follow social distancing requirements and will comprise of non-contact activities with no large groups


Outdoor only shows at night. Seating for evening entertainment will be limited and according to capacity requirements

Activities for our smaller guests will take place as part our adapted entertainment programme, always ensuring social distancing requirements are followed. Services will be available according to demand and always in small groups.

Capacity of seating in bars followed as per requirements and maintaining social distancing. Menus for drinks and snacks will be presented via a QR code accessed via the customers’ mobile telephone.

18. Restaurant Buffet

Capacity of seating in restaurant as per requirements and maintaining social distancing. Sittings for breakfast, lunch and dinner will be organised when needed ensuring the correct restaurant capacities are maintained. The sittings will be allocated on check –in and will be strictly controlled and must be adhered to by customers to ensure restaurant capacities and social distancing are followed. Compulsory to disinfect hands at entrance to restaurant as is the use of face coverings away from assigned table.


Buffets may have assisted serving by restaurant staff for hot dishes or will have individual portions. Cold dishes will be served as single portions.  Customers required to use buffets following a clear one direction flow. Signage will clearly mark the direction of buffet flow to use, allowing one clear point for accessing the buffet and another for leaving the buffet stations. Cutlery will be placed on tables prior to guests use and always properly disinfected and provided in a cover.  Tables & chairs will be disinfected after each customer use.

A selection of foods and dishes served as single portion servings for example, salads, desserts, ice cream, along with accompaniments in single use packaging such as sauces or seasoning. A process for using serving utensils must be followed and this will be communicated at each hotel restaurant.  Where there are Show Cooking facilities, the plate will be served directly to the customer by the chef.


All our staff in every Department of the hotel fully trained in all Health & Safety procedures and practises and have all the tools needed in order to carry out their job roles safely. All our Hotel Departments have very detailed procedure manuals and checklists to ensure that our very high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are in place throughout the hotel.

If your booking is a Non Refundable booking and you have paid a deposit:

We can arrange to transfer the deposit to a booking for a later arrival date.  Please contact us @ with your booking reference number and preferred alternative dates.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis  MedPlaya may need to move  your booking to another MedPlaya hotel in the same destination prior to your arrival . In this instance due to the exceptional circumstances under the Covid-19 crisis, you can cancel your booking and receive a full refund of any monies paid, but no further compensation will be paid for any damages or injuries or other circumstances.


 If you have reserved with another booking agent or Tour Operator:

We are unable to modify or cancel bookings made with Booking Agents or Tour Operators.  They will be contacting you as things progress.
