The wine museum has been created out of the concern and the desire of the winemakers for a space where the quality and prestige of the local wines and their culture can be exhibited. The building, a former palace Biedmas from 18th century, has been restored and opened on July 3, 2008 to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the Council of the Málaga Denomination of Origin.
The Museum has over 800 square meters of the exhibition area, showing over 400 quality antique chromolithographic pieces, distributed in thematic order: bottle labels, advertising posters and prints for wine and raisins, wine barrel headboards, sketches and profiles, coverage and lithographic stones that reveals the visitor the oldest tradition of Málaga’s cellars during the19th and early 20th centuries.In addition, the museum offers visitors a broad overview of the history, geography of wine production areas of the province and its development, wine typology and wine aging.
