According to tradition, Torremolinos begins the summer season with Fried Fish Day Festival (Día del Pescaíto). What began 25 years ago as an initiative between some neighborhood merchants, today is one of the flagship events of Torremolinos.
This edition, celebrated on June 13, the Association of Businessmen and Industrialists of La Carihuela–Montemar and the city converts this emblematic fishing village into the epicenter of this gastronomic feast, during which will be distributed for free over ten thousand kilos of various species of fish and shellfish. The event will take place between 13.00 and 17.00 h. around the promenade of La Carihuela. For newbies, we recommend a good dose of patience because visitors usually come from different parts of Andalusia and it’s probable you will simply have to wait your turn.
The beach of La Carihuela is one of the most popular of Torremolinos, with more than 2,000 meters in length and a high level of occupancy during the summer months. It is an urban beach which is easily accessible on foot, by car or bus and has a number of services. It stretches from the center of Torremolinos almost to Benalmadena Costa and counts with a number of hotels, entertainment and dining establishments.
