Anyone who has visited El Albir, L’Alfas del Pi’s beach right next to Benidorm, has surely noticed that the floor of the seafront is decorated with stars with names of famous artists, humbly emulating the ‘Walk of Fame’ of Hollywood.
The actor and singer from Bilbao, Asier Etxeandía, will be the master of ceremonies in this edition, which will last 10 days, beginning on Friday 5th and ending on Sunday 14th July.
It will be at the Cine Roma, traditional cinema with 60 years of experience, where the 11 films and short films in Spanish and the 15 films in OmU (Original Version with subtitles in Spanish) participating in the contest will be screened.

“Los amantes pasajeros” of Pedro Almodovar.
“El artista y la modelo” of Fernando Trueba.
“Los mundos sutiles” of Eduardo Chapero Jackson.
“Stockolm” of Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
“El universo railowsky” of David Molina Pérez and Rafael Casany.
Within the short film competition section, there are 20 candidates to the Best Short Film Prize and to the ‘Faro de Plata’ (meaning ‘Silver Lighthouse’ in English).
On the other hand, the Casa de Cultura will host screenings of 18 short films selected from among the 228 presented to contest the days 10th, 11th and 12th July.
This Film Festival of Regional Tourist Interest will pay tribute at its opening gala to the actress María Valverde, who will receive the recognition of ‘Faro Joven’ Prize, to Álex de la Iglesia with ‘Faro Especial 25th Anniversary’ Prize and to Antonio Resines, ‘Faro Homenaje’ Prize.
